Graduating in 1960 from Northwestern University with his DDS, Dr. Bob Daniels returned to his hometown of Geneseo, IL to begin practicing. Initially encouraged to pursue dentistry by his wife Norma, who had been a dental assistant since high school, Dr. Bob began working with a local dentist in town.
In 1973 he set out on his own and with a new building and a small staff, Dr. Bob began to grow Daniels Family Dentistry. Originally named for the families he hoped to treat, the name gained additional meaning when Dr. Tom Daniels joined the practice. Graduating from the University of Iowa in 1988, he began to slowly take over day-to-day operations as Dr. Bob began to pass the torch.
Dr. Bob slowed down but never retired. Up until his passing in December 2019 at the age of 85 he still had his dental license and was manning the office when Dr. Tom was out of town. As with all things, endings give way to new beginnings. In the spring of 2020 Dr. Seth Daniels graduated from the SIUE School of Dental Medicine and came back home to continue the legacy.
What started with Norma becoming a dental assistant, with the help of the GHS co-op program, has led to 3 generations of dentistry responsible for 60 years of oral health care in Geneseo. From an early age, Dr. Tom wanted to become a dentist, come back to Geneseo, and work with his dad. Upon completion of Geneseo High School, Augustana college, and University of Iowa College of Dentistry, his dream came true. In 1988, he joined Daniels Family Dentistry and has enjoyed every day since. Practicing 32 years with his dad was a real honor, but the anticipation of his son, Dr. Seth, joining the practice is equally as exciting. We will continue to provide the latest technology along with exceptional care to our patients.
When not working, Dr. Tom enjoys biking, boating, water skiing, snow skiing, fishing, gardening, and watching his children participate in their high school and college sports.
Born and raised in Geneseo Il. No doubt influenced by his role models, his dad and grandpa, Dr. Seth drew a picture in the second grade of his future job as a dentist. Dr. Seth is a graduate of the University of Iowa and then the SIUE School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He finally reached his goal of becoming a dentist, earning his DMD, in June of 2020. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Illinois State Dental Association.
In his free time Dr. Seth enjoys spending time with his family, time spent outdoors, particularly with his black lab/border collie mix Stella, and enjoying live music with friends.
